House of Music: Vienna’s Legacy in Every Note
The House of Music in Vienna is an interactive sound museum that offers a unique experience of music through innovative exhibitions and educational programs. Located in the heart of Vienna, this museum allows visitors to explore, see, create, and deeply feel music in a way that transcends ordinary listening.

Vienna, known as the World’s Music Capital, has been the home of the most prominent composers in the history of music like Mozart, Beethoven, Haydn, Strauss and Schubert. The House of Music in Vienna provides a tribute to this unprecedented legacy while at the same time opens its goal and visions to the future. The museum was designed with collaboration from music theorists, multimedia artists, sound technicians, architects, students, and several Austrian and foreign universities.
The museum takes you through several floors filled with auditory experiments and installations. Each floor takes on a distinct theme: from the physics of sound and psychoacoustics, to the lives of Vienna’s musical giants, to abstract sonic environments. One particularly compelling feature is the Sonotopia Lab – a VR-based sound universe where visitors create “Clong” sound creatures – or the “Namadeus” game that turns your name into a Mozart-style composition, both of which explore how we perceive and shape sound.

Visitors can pick up the conductor’s baton and lead the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra in a virtual concert or dive into the physics of sound through hands-on experimentation.
Vienna’s House of Music is interactive, educational, and a delight for all music enthusiasts.
