Kleinod Bar: A Cocktail Bar Legacy
Kleinod Bar opened in 2014, founded by four friends with a collective vision to showcase high-quality cocktails in Vienna’s bar scene. While the city has always had a flair for cafés and wine taverns, craft cocktails were less common. Kleinod filled that gap – subtly but powerfully – by embracing the idea that great drinks deserve a great setting.
Housed in a heritage building just off the bustling Graben, the bar blends the elegance of Vienna’s imperial past with a contemporary sensibility. Its name ‘Kleinod’ means ‘jewel’ or ‘treasure,’ fitting the founders’ aim to create a small, precious gem of a bar. From the beginning, the bar emphasized quality ingredients, meticulous technique, and hospitality that feels quietly confident.
Over the years, Kleinod Bar built a reputation not through loud marketing or trendy gimmicks, but through consistency and word of mouth. It became a favorite of discerning locals who appreciate a great atmosphere as much as a great cocktail.
As Vienna’s cocktail culture grew, Kleinod remained ahead of the curve, evolving without losing its essence. Their bartenders are classically trained but playful, often integrating local and seasonal ingredients into new concoctions.
