NENI am Naschmarkt – Israeli-Inspired Cuisine at Vienna’s Iconic Market
NENI am Naschmarkt was founded in 2009 by Haya Molcho and her four sons — Nuriel, Elior, Nadiv, and Ilan — whose initials form the name NENI. Haya, originally from Tel Aviv, brought the vibrant flavors of Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisine to Vienna, creating a unique dining concept centered around sharing and communal eating.
Naschmarkt itself has a long history dating back to the 16th century, when it started as a farmers’ market selling milk bottles. Over time, it grew into a melting pot of international flavors and cultures, making it the perfect location for Haya’s vision. The lively market setting, combined with the open-kitchen concept at NENI, reflects the energy and social atmosphere of the street markets in Tel Aviv.

The concept behind NENI is simple: food is meant to be shared. The menu reflects this idea with a variety of mezze, shakshuka, hummus variations, and fresh salads, all served family-style. The open kitchen was designed to create a connection between the chefs and the guests — you can watch the dishes being prepared, adding to the interactive and welcoming feel.
NENI am Naschmarkt quickly gained a loyal following, for its food and its warm and relaxed atmosphere. The success of NENI am Naschmarkt quickly made it a staple in Vienna’s dining scene. Its popularity has since led to the opening of several NENI locations across Europe, including in Berlin, Amsterdam, Paris, and Zurich. Despite its expansion, the Naschmarkt location remains the heart of the NENI brand — where Haya’s culinary vision and the family’s warm hospitality are most evident.
