Vienna is a city that celebrates all year round. From the glittering ballrooms of winter to open-air concerts in baroque palace gardens, there's always something worth planning a trip around. Christmas markets take over the city's most beautiful squares from November, summer brings music festivals to the Danube Island, and in between you'll find wine hiking days through actual vineyards, film screenings under the stars, and food festivals in imperial parks.

This is our curated selection of Vienna's best recurring events and seasonal highlights - not a complete calendar, but the ones we'd genuinely recommend to a friend visiting the city. We keep dates updated as they're announced each year, and flag when they're still approximate. If something's on this list, it's worth your time.

When are you visiting?
